The Grill Time Fire Starter Gel is 100% vegetable-based and free of any chemical or petroleum additives.
Our gel is non-combustible and doesn’t produce any chemical smells or flavors. It’s designed to safely start the Time-to-Grill Natural Charcoal. Simply place a small circular bead on the starter plate (or gel plate) beneath the charcoal container, light it with a lighter, and then place the charcoal canister on top of the lit gel plate. The gel burns for 4-5 minutes, providing just enough time to ignite the charcoal. No lighter fluid taste or smell is added to your barbecue, and the gel burns very cleanly.

The starter gel is also versatile – it can be used at your campsite as a fire starter, eliminating the need for dangerous newspaper embers floating around.
